Wipro is hiring for the position of Operational Support!

Responsibilities of the Candidate:

• Responsible for provision of day-to-day operational support and management of the IT infrastructure supports the 24/7/365 presence in Operations Bridge
• Manage operational and maintenance procedures, and ensure that scheduled jobs, systems/ database housekeeping, and maintenance, are completed within agreed deadlines
• Perform console operations i.e. monitor the status of specific systems, job queues, and provide first-level intervention if appropriate, and use discretion in identifying, resolving complex problems. assignments and determining when the issue should be escalated
• Work in conjunction with the service desk to resolve issues where applicable
• Deliver change requests for the John Lewis Partnership’s scheduling systems (TWS/ IWS) with desired results in a timely fashion
• Responsible for the management of the batch loaded into the John Lewis Partnership’s schedule systems
• Fill Ad-hoc requests for manipulation of the plan when required
• Monitor the John Lewis Partnership’s IT infrastructure, and provide initial incident and event recognition, and use infrastructure management software and tools to collect agreed performance statistics i.e. database, network, etc. 
• Monitor the performance of all John Lewis Partnership websites and critical applications
• Provide 1st and 2nd line support
• Escalate critical and major incidents to senior stakeholders
• Support the incident management process as specified in operating procedures and as directed by operations partners
• Include escalations in-house, and engage with third-party support when required
• Provide 1st and some 2nd line support to users for a wide range of John Lewis Partnership applications across the business
• Represent the Operations Bridge in a variety of projects (e.g. Service Introduction)
• Support continuous improvement within IT Operations, carry out agreed project work and maintain the support process
• Support the build and maintenance of service management documentation and ensure compliance with quality management, risk management, security policies and procedures
• Support with the training of new starters and other members of the department, update and create training documents where and when required

Requirements:

• Can work entirely independently.
• Lead the shift when the Shift Manager/ Supervisor is unavailable.
• Have an excellent understanding of when and when not to escalate incidents.
• Able to discuss operational duties with project managers and convey this information to the shifts ultimately ensuring a smooth transition.
