APMaaS Group – Java Professionals for Member Technical Staff, (Individual Contributor Role)
The APM group is looking for an exceptional Java Software professionals to be part of next generation APM.
The Team and Product
APM is a strategic focus for Oracle. APMaaS is already part of the cloud infrastructure for Oracle Public Cloud. We are building our APM^Next platform and service from the ground up and an exceptional user experience is critical to the success of APMaaS.
The Role
We are seeking highly accomplished Java software professionals who can be part of the “Application Performance Monitoring” software development team. If you are self-driven and have a great combination of coding skills, design skills, and communication skills and have been part of large enterprise class software product development teams on Java and Cloud, have worked on development of services deployed on the popular Cloud platforms like Oracle Public Cloud, Amazon Web services or Azure then this position is definitely a fit for you.
About the Successful Candidate
The successful candidate is a self-motivated, progressive software professional with around 0-4 years of industry experience who can deal with complex problems without supervision. He/She should have had prior experience building frameworks for Cloud applications. Bachelors or Master’s degree or equivalent experience relevant to the functional area.
Responsibilities
- Development of new APM service based on Java.
- Specify and implement modest changes to existing software architecture to meet changing needs.
- Contribute to the a development of Enterprise tier for Oracle’s next-generation APM Services.
- Work with Java Architects, Development Managers in requirements specification definition and detailed engineering analysis from data requirements perspective
- Do code reviews for peers and team members
- Provide innovative ideas to enhance development process.
- Provide support to cloud operation for any functional and performance issues.
Preferred Skills:
- 0-4 years’ experience in production-quality Java Server and UI programming preferably in Enterprise or Cloud Software product companies
- Strong Experience on Cloud Native Technology Stack and Java Enterprise Programming.
- Experience in developing software on UNIX/LINUX
- Familiar or have worked on one or more of the following technologies: Java, Cloud Native Architecture, Kubernetes, Terraform, XML, AJAX; REST (Jersey (JAX-RS), JAXB); Node.js, Oracle JET, Micro services Architecture, Kafka, GitHub.
Other Desirable Skills
- Build strong relationship with dev leads inside and outside APM group to design and architecture that is cohesive with other products in our org.
- Strong communication and personal skills: work well with members of other functional groups in a project team; demonstrate a strong sense of project ownership
- Is familiar with both Waterfall and Agile methodology.
